The Wheel 2 is a highly sophisticated record player. In many ways it is a modern day reimagining of the compact linear tracking turntables Technics made in the 1980s. If you need to route video around the house - your best option might be to use a dedicated Cat6 or Cat5e cable. NOTE - This is not a networked Ethernet connection - with these specific adaptors you can't send the HDMI signal via a router, a switch, an Ethernet over power-line connector, a WiFi transmitter, etc - you're just using a Cat6 (or CAT5e) cable as a substitute for a HDMI lead. I've been lucky enough to play Tempest 3000 a couple of times thanks to whoever in EGX's retro games showcase brought a Nuon with me. Also the only place I've ever got to have a go at an Apple Pippin so it's sort of worth the EGX admission price on its own for hyper retro nerds

My first thought? Shame the numbers only go up to 10. Not a Spinal Tap reference. Was just thinking how cool it would have been to have put the song 'A-11' on selection A-11. (It's an old honky-tonk track, I think originally recorded by Buck Owens.)

I had both when they were new. But I love the Sony Walkman 2 bring smaller and more modern looking with the push buttons and simple designs. But the buttons would get stick and I even took my WM 2 to a Sony Repair ship and never went back for. About 14 years ago, I started buying many Walkmans off eBay before the prices went up and only a few were buying them. Most were broken and not working bc of the belt needing to be replaced. But I ended up with about 20 of them and I hope I still have in my storage. They made so many, even over 49 years later, it’s hard to keep up with all the models they came out with. And models that were not imported to the US. Even when Sony was coming out with the new models in the 80s and 90s, it was hard to keep up with them and by then, I had probably had 5 Walkmans already and couldn’t justify buying a new one. Even if o wanted the new models. But now with those old desires to have them all, you now have collectors like myself. I’m glad o had a head start collecting them 14 years ago. But I had stop bout 10 years ago on collecting and now after looking at a few on eBay, back at looking for them. I just bought the SRF-16W and it’s just a fm Walkman, but got one in great shape and under $20. I’m actually trying to find the SRF- 35W and can’t seem to find one in yt. But it’s very attractive with am and fm radio and a purple blue color and a 3 eq on the cover. I better stop here bc I need to buy that off eBay and don’t want to miss getting it. Man, I am obsessed with. Intake electronics and not sure what I’m going to do with all the ones I’m buying and funding. But I love it!

I miss the one I bought new around 1988 which was the same size as a cassette tape. When you didn’t have a tape and only wanted to used the radio, it would fold down about an inch and became smaller. I love that thing and took with me on my first trip to Europe in the end of 89 and have to my Spanish gf. Now it’s a collectors item and very expensive and desirable. Oh and it was made out of metal. Back then they would come out with so many new models and the thinner the better and most made out of metal. So they were stunning and for a gadget freak like myself, I wanted them all but most only bought when they need one and was not collecting them. So now I’m glad many are making sense of collecting them now. Most no longer work and need repairing. I did about 6 years ago find the first Aony Walkman in mint condition with a brown leather cover protecting and preserving it all these decades. Oh and I was shocked finding at a flea market getting there late and many most likely passed up bc it didn’t work and felt it was iseless. So I manage to get for only $12. Well I tried to get for $8. bc it didn’t work, but the seller said no and I said no problem and I’ll give you $12. A few months lather, I ended up listing on eBay and sold for about $185. in a few days. Yes, you can still get tip dollars on iconic rare items on eBay. I wish I had hundreds of them and would make tons of money. Lol!

I remember Sharp as being a maker of odd machines. It was always fun to see what they came up with. I never had one though. When you used the JVC (777) I noticed with glee. I had 3 different versions of the Hyper-Bass models. I LOVED those machines. The sound from them was A+. They lasted quite a few years before the electronics finally gave out on each. Boom boxes back then were quite a fun thing to witness because of all the various brands and designs. That's when audio was fun to get involved in. Today...yawn. Fun video to watch.
